Hey Jome fans!
It has been a while between posts but never fear: Jome has not fallen off the face of the earth! So, here’s a little taster of what we’ve been up to:
– Ashleigh from our Improv class celebrated her birthday in style asking all of us to dress up for our class. She brought an awesome cake and came dressed as the Cat in the Hat! Everyone had a great night and some of the scenes ended up being based on the costumes. Everyone was impressed by the costumes she provided for us and by Nurse Penny bringing in her work uniform – scrubs!
– Dayna and Vicky made some pretty good progress with the choreography for the Addams Family Musical. We got a sneak peak as some filming occured but you’ll have to wait to see the results! Speaking of Addams Family, the set and costumes are also looking pretty impressive with Deanna at the helm. All in all it should be a really great show.
– In anticipation of our own upcoming Improv night the crew headed off to the Brisbane Hotel to see Perth’s resident improv group, The Big Hoo Haa. It was inspirational and left some of us ready for action. Only a few weeks to go, kids! Some incredibly sober *cough* fun was had at karaoke after as well ending with a group sing-a-long to Bohemian Rhapsody that blew everybody’s minds.
– We had a great games night as part of a ‘getting to know you’ session for our Wednesday and Tuesday night Jomers. There were some pretty impressive costumes, especially Sarah as a chess piece and Siobhan as a game of snakes and ladders. Everyone had a great time and Elisa asked me to mention that she and Aaron won at ‘Articulate!’
– Check Please is progressing well with the group ready to start rehearsing in the theatre. We have got most of our main set, and will be adding heaps more with the help of the amazing Deanna. In case you missed it, here’s a video we made about the pitfalls of dating:

– Check Please is on Saturday 23rd May so make sure you check it out – it’s a funny show all about a series of bad dates (not the kind Indiana Jones avoided in Raiders) and should be a great night out! Get your tickets here: http://www.jome.com.au/check-please-tickets/
That’s all from me, keep your eye out for some new videos promoting our shows in which we interview a few key players and characters.
