Twice a year, JOME Club hosts an awards night called the Jomies (basically, our version of the Oscars, but even better!)
The Jomies is a chance for Jomers to dress up, get together for a nice social event and celebrating each other’s successes from the term’s productions.
There are a number of awards given out on the night, some voted by club members, some decided by Chris and Laura or the “Coach” (basically our word for Director) of each show.
JOME isn’t about winning awards, it’s about everyone giving it a go, doing their best and supporting each other, but it is nice to recognise those of us who have gone above and beyond.
Named in honour of much-loved JOMER, Drew Gronow, who sadly passed away in April 2017. This award recognises a Jomer who is the essence of everything Drew was – welcoming, friendly, caring, supportive, willing to give everything a go, always tries their best.
Named in honour of founding member, Daniel Melody, who moved away but is much loved and remembered. This award recognises a Jomer who is the ultimate team player and goes above and beyond to support JOME, it’s members and it’s day-to-day running.
